New BALUA launch is coming!

This launch will be done in collaboration with the institution Solar do Mimo, aiming to promote the “Our Dream” project, which boils down to the construction of new facilities for the institution.

The launch will be on March 29 (Saturday), between 13 and 19 hours.

Solar do Mimo is a temporary Shelter of children at risk, nonprofit, with public utility status. The headquarters are in São Romão and carries activity for fourteen years. http://www.solardomimo.org/

The 3D printer is Here!

The new 3D Printer has arrived! The Makerbot Replicator 2X is ready to be used for prototyping parts and accessories quickly and effectively!

The 1st thing to be printed was the symbol of Balua.

The final result

We used an infill of 10% and white ABS polymer. One interesting thing is that despite the fact that the piece has a considerable dimension and thickness, it weighs only 13g! Very promising for making the parts that will be used in our HAB projects!

Friedrichshafen ham fair – photos

Our trip is over and it was a huge success! (apart from lost luggage and so on..)

The flea market was the biggest surprise, every thing (radio related) you might want to buy for a euro coin is there!! From simple connectors to complex spectrum analyzers it’s all there.

The balloon launch had some nice features such as morse code, SSTV, voice and multiple independent payloads made by students form different European countries.
